We haven't posted much lately because we haven't had much to say because we have been waiting for the good weather. The plants are doing good in the house - some are not looking so good with crumpled, yellow dry leaves or others are drooping and some are doing fine!
One of the sunflowers is taller than the rest at 41cm.
The cucumber is flowering with beautiful yellow blossoms.
Two bean plants even have beans on them - one of them is almost ready to pick because it is already turning yellow!
We have already picked three small snap peas.
Daddy G started tilling the garden plot on Saturday of this weekend, but a belt that makes the tiller go broke after only one swipe of the plot and we couldn't find another one after a whole afternoon of searching stores.
Little G's favourite plants are the sunflowers. Big G's favourite plants are the wax beans.

The Transplant
April 18th,we went to go transplant the plants because it was nice day, and the plants were growing out of the mini garden in the house. The tools we used to transplant the plants were small shovels called trowels.
The materials we used were: bags of soil, tin cans and plastic pots that Mama G purchased. We also used bamboo sticks to stake beans and peas because they like to cling to things and they climb.
We planted the plants three to a large pot and one to most cans. We scooped soil into each pot. Then we put the plants into the pot and filled in the space around the plants with soil.

Everything's growing!
Hi it's Big G and Little G again! The weather lately has been mostly sunny, windy, cloudy and the temperature has been warming up, hanging around zero degrees at night and above zero during the day. On Saturday of this past weekend, it was snowing like CRAZY! It is expected to rain and the temperatures will keep going up, up, up!
In our garden, everything is growing except four of the wax beans. One of the wax beans is really tall since last week, when it was teeny tiny. It measures 22.5cm and the leaves are large and round like elephant ears. One of the wax beans that isn't growing yet is thinking about popping out like a rabbit out of its hole.
The zucchini plants are all tall like candy canes. Some are standing straight, but others are flopping over and resting on other plants - they look tired. The tallest play in the tray a zucchini plant and it measures 23cm.
To Big G, the garden is looking cool - the plants look very fresh. Some of the leaves are turning yellow. We are a little worried about them, so Mama G has said we will be replanting them this weekend for sure into some new big pots that she bought at Canadian Tire. We hope this will keep them happy until we can plant them in the ground.

After 2 Weeks
After 2 weeks most of the plants have popped out of the soil and have sprouted. Zucchini and pumpkin are the tallest competing at 14 cm! And we even have Parsley and Green pepper that we have not had for a while!
We almost have all of the plants! Isn't that exciting?! All but 1 of the parsley are growing. And half of the green peppers are too!! One wax bean has sprouted enough to pop out of the soil as well - they are taking a while. As we said earlier, the pumpkin and zucchini are the tallest, but the snap peas and sunflowers are tall too! Mama thinks that the snap peas have the prettiest leaves - she says that pea plants always look so happy.
Big G says that all the plants look cool and thinks they are going to get big fast. Little G would like them grow faster. Right now we are saving tin cans to transplant the seedlings when they get too big for the tray.

Introduction
Hi! We are Big G and Little G, new gardeners. We are planting our first garden. We are excited to be able to grow our own food! My little brother, Little G, exclaimed that he couldn't wait to see the food on the plants - Mama G told him that he would have to wait a few months.
We planted seeds in a tray of soil pods on March 15th, 2015, during a snowstorm. We planted fourteen types of plants, but only had twelve rows in our tray, so we didn't plant as many of some plants as others. We chose which plants to plant less of based on how much or little fruit/vegetable they would make (zucchini and cantaloupe) or how big they were going to be (sunflower and pumpkin). When we planted them, we put 2 to 3 seeds in each pod.
Mama G was surprised to see plants springing out of the soil only 5 days later, on Friday, March 20th. We planted cucumbers, beets, sunflowers, pumpkins, zucchini, cantaloupe, green peppers, romaine lettuce, wax beans, snap peas, spinach, carrots, parsley, and broccoli. The first seedlings out of the soil were the sunflower, cucumber, zucchini and pumpkin. On that day, there were no parsley, beets, broccoli or carrot plants.
Today, it snowed again, but our garden is inside and continues to grow! Almost all of the plants have popped up out of the soil. The only ones that haven't are the parsley and wax beans. One of the wax bean seeds has moved closer to the surface of the soil and we can see a couple of cracks in the top of it, so it may be thinking about growing soon. As you can see in the first and last photos, seeds are still attached to some of the plants. Also in picture three, you can see that part of the plant is growing out of the side of the soil pod.
